Melany

Melany is a cheerful and fun-loving 6-year-old girl who is currently thriving in kindergarten. She is happy at school, where she loves her mathematics classes and is excited to learn about coloring, vowels, and letters. In her free time, Melany enjoys singing and playing with dolls, and her absolute favorite food is fried chicken with potatoes. When she grows up, she holds a big dream of becoming a military officer! She also loves visiting her grandfather’s orchard during the season, where she really enjoys eating freshly picked fruit.

She lives in a cement home with a calamine roof alongside her mother, Jessica, and her brother in the community of Montecristo, Guatemala. Because her family has a low income, her mother works long hours all day at a shrimp farm to provide for them, while her grandmother, Ernestina, stays home to take care of Melany.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
