Maria

Maria is 13 years old and is always eager to study and learn new things. She lives in Tondo, Philippines, where she attends Grade 7. Maria works hard at school because she has big dreams of becoming a flight attendant when she graduates, and she wants to be a good example to her three brothers.

When Maria is not studying or dreaming of travelling the world with her parents, she really enjoys singing and dancing.

Maria lives with her parents and brothers in small house made of plywood and a thatched roof. Both Maria’s parents work tirelessly to support the family, including Maria’s aging grandmother, and pay for the children’s schooling. Her father helps at a local grocer and her mother works as a repacker. Despite this, their income is still not enough to meet all the family’s needs, often leaving them struggling to buy rice and other necessities.

Being part of the sponsorship program would be a huge relief to this struggling family and would ensure Maria is able to continue her studies, gaining the foundational education she needs to achieve her full potential and achieve her goal of becoming a flight attendant.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
