José Ramón is a hardworking and respectful 73-year-old grandfather originally from La Paz, now living alone in a brick home with a calamine roof in Yapacaní, Bolivia. Widowed 15 years ago, he is the proud father of five grown children—Tania, Alexis, Yuri, Wilma, and Charly—who have since started families of their own.

Despite managing fragile health, including gastritis and other age-related ailments, José Ramón continues to work as a security guard to cover his basic daily expenses. He takes genuine pride in his job, enjoying greeting people each day as they pass by. Though he works tirelessly, the current financial climate makes it difficult to make ends meet on his own.
