Gerado

Meet Gerardo, a very kind 11-year-old boy from Sol Naciente II, Paraguay. This caring boy is currently in Grade 5, where he enjoys art class the most. He loves drawing and makes beautiful pictures for family and friends.

Gerardo likes school very much and works hard at it, but he finds it challenging because he has learning disabilities. Gerardo likes playing soccer with his friends when he’s not in school. After finishing his studies, Gerardo hopes to become a farmer in his community.

Gerardo’s mother is a single parent, who takes care of her three children and Gerardo’s grandmother. His parents are separated but his father doesn’t pay any support, so Gerardo’s mother is the sole provider for her family. They live in a small wood home with a sheet-metal roof.

As a single mother, meeting all of the family’s basic needs can be challenging, so being part of the sponsorship program will greatly help ease the family’s financial stress and ensure Gerardo can continue in school with everything he needs to be successful.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
