Genie

Genie is 11 years old and lives in Tondo, Philippines. She is in Grade 5 and loves her language arts and literature classes, but she also really enjoys gym class. She always studies hard because she has a big dream of becoming a flight attendant so she can visit different countries across the world. When she’s not in school, Genie also enjoys spending time with her best friends, Apple, Shyvana, Akhia, and Althea. Her favourite hobby is singing and dancing and she often creates fun dance videos.

Genie lives with her parents and two brothers. Her father works as a delivery boy in a plastics store, while her mother stays home to care for the children, as she has hearing difficulties. Her father works long hours, but the wages are minimal and because all of the children are in school, his income is not enough to cover the family’s daily needs, especially with the increasing school fees.

Being part of the sponsorship program would be a huge help for this struggling family, as it would help ensure that Genie is able to continue her education with all the resources she needs to be successful, and one day, see the world as a flight attendant.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
