Christopher

Christopher is a 66-year-old man from Itivanzou, Kenya. He was born with a physical disability, as his right leg has been deformed since birth. He walks with the support of a walking stick and also lives with partial hearing impairment. Despite these challenges, Christopher works diligently as a cobbler at the nearby Itivanzou market. Through casual labour and his cobbling skills, he strives to provide food for his family and support his children’s education. He enjoys his work and maintains a positive attitude about life, even in the face of ongoing difficulties. Christopher lives in a small brick house with a sheet-metal roof. Support would help ease the strain on him and his family, providing greater stability and care as he continues to work hard despite his physical limitations. Sponsorship enables elders to eat well, access healthcare and medication, and connect socially with a community that fosters a sense of belonging.
