Abigail

This is Abigail, a very caring little five-year-old girl in preschool. She lives in Sukuta, a small farming community near Kasempa, Zambia. Abigail enjoys school, especially her science class. When she is not in school, she likes playing traditional games with her best friends, Michelle and Agatha. Abigail has already decided she wants to be a nurse when she finishes school, so she can help sick people.

Abigail lives with her parents, brother, and three sisters in a one-room, unfinished home with a thatched roof. The family struggles to meet their basic needs with the meager income they are able to make. They are small-scale farmers growing maize and sunflowers for home consumption. For Abigail, being part of the sponsorship program would be a wonderful opportunity. It would not only help relieve the family’s financial strain, but it would also ensure Abigail is able to continue her studies with everything she needs to succeed and eventually achieve her goal of becoming a nurse.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
