Abel

Meet Abel, a very bright and cheerful four-year-old boy from Sefu village, a small community near Mpika, Zambia. Abel is currently in preschool and is very quick to learn new things, especially in his favourite classes: math, English, and art. Able is very proud that he can write his letters and numbers. He is also an extremely creative child, who enjoys building and designing things. Abel enjoys making new friends and spending time with them playing when he is not in school. He walks 10 kilometres a day to and from school. He is extremely dedicated to his studies and aims to join the military when he finishes school, so he can become a soldier and help bring about peace in his country.

Abel lives with his mother and sister in a temporary home in very poor living conditions. As a single parent, Abel’s mother struggles to meet the family’s basic needs. Being part of the Chalice sponsorship program would be a wonderful opportunity for Abel that would help ease the family’s financial burden while ensuring he can continue in school to gain a foundational educational that will allow him to be successful and achieve his goals.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
