Dalensky is a quiet, thoughtful 10-year-old who loves reading and dreams of continuing his education. He lives with his mother and several relatives in a small two-room house where eight family members share limited space. With very little income and no steady employment in the household, the family depends largely on small earnings from his mother’s occasional business and the support they receive through Chalice.

For nearly two years, Dalensky has been courageously battling a serious knee condition that has caused pain, stiffness, and severe difficulty walking. What began as a deformity in his knee gradually progressed until the joint became locked in a half-bent position, making even simple daily activities difficult. He underwent surgery and began the long process of recovery, but complications followed. He was hospitalized again, and then a third time after severe bleeding required another emergency operation to reposition his knee.

Each setback has been physically painful and emotionally exhausting for Dalensky and his family. His mother has faithfully accompanied him to every medical appointment, travelling long distances to ensure he receives the care he needs despite the financial hardship they face.

Today, there is finally reason for hope. After months of treatment, surgeries, and follow-up care, Dalensky has made encouraging progress. He can once again walk and return to school with his classmates instead of relying on his mother to accompany him each day. Even so, his recovery is not yet complete. He continues to require medical follow-up, dressings, examinations, and ongoing care to protect the progress he has fought so hard to achieve.

Your kindness can help ensure that Dalensky completes the treatment he still needs, allowing him to continue healing without interruption. By easing the burden of medical expenses, you will give this determined young boy the opportunity to keep learning, playing, and moving forward with confidence—one careful step at a time.
Thank you for your compassion and for taking the time to think about those in need.
