At our Chiclayo site in Peru, joy was an understatement last Christmas, thanks to our generous Christmas WonderFund donors. For many mothers here, having access to money specifically for Christmas is a novel idea.
As they have done for many years, the mothers in the community gathered at the Chalice Family Circle to discuss how to spend the Christmas WonderFund money. The choice was an easy one — food packages for every family.
With this gift, the true enchantment of Christmas came alive, gathering families around tables filled with love and laughter — many sharing an official holiday feast for the very first time. As the food packages were prepared and shared, it wasn’t just bellies that were filled, but hearts; the experience sparked a beautiful sense of wonder, wrapping the families in a warm embrace of lifelong trust and friendship.
