Life is beautiful. We are born very small and vulnerable and through the love and nurturing of our parents, we grow up into strong, confident and healthy adults that will hopefully positively shape our communities and grow strong families of their own. Through all this we continue to age and eventually return to a state of vulnerability where we need the care of others once more.

Chalice and our supporters work to help the most vulnerable live with dignity and feel loved and cared for. One of the ways we do this is through elder sponsorship.

By sponsoring a vulnerable elder in one of our sites you provide money for food, shelter, medication, medical care and most cherished of all, showing someone out there cares for them. There are elders who have lost contact with their children, or been left when their family moves away in search of a better life for themselves and their children. Often too sick or injured to work and without a social safety net, they simply perish.

But you can change that. We have heard from some people who sponsor elders that it’s like adopting a grandparent and the relationships they develop are precious.
