Wilfred

Wilfred is a 74-year-old woman from Kamito, Kenya. She enjoys storytelling and sharing time with those around her. Despite the many challenges she faces, she remains grateful for the support and kindness of others. Wilfred lives in a simple dirt house with a sheet metal roof. She struggles with chronic health complications that make it difficult for her to work or support herself. Because of this, meeting daily needs is a constant challenge. She cares for her two grandsons, one of whom lives with a cognitive disability. Wilfred depends largely on the support of neighbours and well-wishers as she does her best to provide care and stability for her family. Support would help ease the burden she carries and improve their daily living conditions. Sponsorship enables elders to eat well, access healthcare and medication, and connect socially with a community that fosters a sense of belonging.
