Sofiya

Sofiya is an 11-year-old girl from Terebovlya, Ukraine. She is currently in Grade 4 and especially loves art class. Sofiya enjoys dancing and attends Art School twice a week, where she continues to develop her creativity and confidence. Though she is naturally shy and quiet, Sofiya expresses herself beautifully through art and dance. She is part of an inclusive education program at school, where she is working hard and doing her best. Sofiya dreams of becoming a chef when she grows up. She lives with her mother in an adobe house with a metal sheet roof. Her mother works hard to provide for them, but it is difficult to cover their basic needs, especially with the rising costs brought on by the war in Ukraine. Sofiya is a gentle and determined young girl with wonderful dreams for her future. Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
