Shantel

Shantel is a focused and hardworking 8-year-old girl living in Meru, Kenya. She is currently in grade 1, where language arts is her favorite subject. Shantel is a responsible and active child who enjoys playing soccer, sweeping the house, and doing household chores. Inspired to educate others and help children in her community, she works hard in school and dreams of becoming a teacher when she grows up.

She lives in a wooden home with a metal sheet roof alongside her parents and sister. Her parents work as casual laborers to support the family. Relying on small, irregular wages from casual labor makes covering daily household expenses and paying for ongoing school fees and learning materials a continuous financial struggle.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
