Portia

Portia is a hardworking 16-year-old girl from Wa, Ghana. She is in Grade 6 and enjoys language arts and religion classes. She also likes playing soccer and spending time with friends. Portia dreams of becoming a nurse someday so she can care for others in her community. She works hard at school and is determined to achieve her goals. She lives in a brick house with a thatched roof alongside her mother, brother, two sisters, and grandparents. Her mother is a solo parent who works hard to provide for their large household, but supporting the family is a constant challenge. Sponsorship would be a meaningful support for Portia’s education and would help her continue striving toward her dream of becoming a nurse. Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
