Oleksandr

Oleksandr is a dedicated and hardworking 11-year-old boy living in Volyn Oblast, Ukraine. He is currently in grade 6, where mathematics is his favorite subject. Oleksandr is a thoughtful and active child who enjoys drawing, coloring, playing soccer with his friends, and helping around the home by working in the garden, feeding the family cat and cow, and assisting his grandfather with daily tasks. Driven by a love for sports, he dreams of becoming a professional soccer player when he grows up.

He lives with his mother, sister, and grandparents in his grandfather’s brick home with an asbestos roof. His mother supports the children through seasonal farm labor in a small village with few permanent job opportunities. Managing basic household expenses and school needs for a multi-generational family during ongoing conflict and economic instability is a constant financial struggle.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
