Matvii

Matvii is a hardworking and resilient 10-year-old boy living in a mountain village in Kosiv, Ukraine. He is a creative third-grade student who loves art class, frequently drawing tractors and cars, and he dreams of becoming a truck driver one day. He is a deeply helpful child who finds joy in tending to the garden and feeding the family’s animals, whom he considers his little friends.

He lives with his parents and family in a wooden home with a metal sheet roof. Matvii studies in an inclusive education program due to speech, memory, and eyesight challenges, requiring constant care and academic support from his mother. The family faces immense emotional and financial strain navigating the daily anxieties of the war, alongside the costs of Matvii’s medical treatments, all on his father’s single income as a construction worker. The sponsorship program provides a critical lifeline of stability and hope for this dedicated family, ensuring Matvii has the resources needed to continue his education and stay safe.
