Mateo

Mateo is a 10-year-old boy from Villeta, Paraguay. He is in grade 5 and especially enjoys science. Mateo likes playing with his friends and is an active and curious learner. When he grows up, he hopes to become a volunteer firefighter so he can help others in his community. Mateo is motivated to do well in school and works hard to make his late father proud, whom he misses deeply. He lives with his mother and three sisters in a brick house with a sheet metal roof. Their home is located in an area prone to flooding, and during heavy rains, water can damage the house. Despite these challenges, Mateo remains determined and focused on his education, with hopes of building a brighter future for himself and his family.  Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
