Maria

Maria lives with her parents, grandmother, and four sisters in a single room plywood house with a sheet metal roof in Tondo, Philippines. This grade four student hopes to someday become a teacher, and she is studying hard to ensure her dreams come true. However, her parents small income makes it difficult for all of the family’s basic and educational needs to be covered. Maria’s favourite subject is mathematics and in her free time she likes to play with her friends – especially hide and seek. Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
