María

María is an 8-year-old girl from Villeta, Paraguay. She is in grade 3 and especially enjoys mathematics class, although she is working hard to improve her writing skills. María also loves drawing and spending time skating outside her home. At home, María is helpful and enjoys doing chores. María lives with her mother and brother in her grandmother’s brick house with a calamine roof, along with other extended family members. When she grows up, María dreams of becoming a doctor. She is a thoughtful and determined young girl who is grateful for the support that helps her continue her education and work toward her goals. Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
