Joseph

Joseph is a 58-year-old man from Kandwia, Kenya. He enjoys walking and maintains a positive outlook on life despite the many challenges he faces.

Joseph is totally blind, having lost his sight as an adult due to illness. He was born with a hearing impairment, and his left leg is deformed from an accident, which makes mobility difficult. Despite these physical challenges, he strives to remain hopeful and resilient.

He lives in a brick house with a sheet-metal roof alongside his wife, who also lives with physical and mental disabilities. Together, they face significant hardship and often depend on goodwill of community members to meet their basic needs. Support would greatly improve Joseph’s quality of life, providing stability, care, and dignity as he and his wife navigate daily challenges.

Sponsorship connects adults with disabilities to inclusive educational, occupational, and social activities and enables them to live dignified and healthy lives, regardless of their level of independence.
