Josefa is a cheerful, obedient, and highly sociable seven-year-old girl living in Cantón Cojxac, Guatemala. She is currently a bright first-grade student who loves to discover new things and counts Language Arts as her absolute favorite class. Josefa has an incredibly friendly personality, loving to socialize and meet new people wherever she goes. In her free time, she enjoys keeping active with sports and athletics, reading, and playing with her sister. Her favorite color is pink, she loves treating herself to grilled meat, and she has a big dream for the future: she wants to become a doctor so she can heal other people in her community.

She shares a warm and loving home with her parents and her sister in a house built of cement with a metal sheet roof. Josefa is an exceptionally helpful daughter who happily pitches in with daily household chores. Her mother, Florinda, describes her as a deeply curious and good-natured girl who brings a lot of light to their family.
