Hadiya

Hadiya lives with her father, grandparents, and older sister in a palm leaf and asbestos house in Tamil, India. She is currently in grade two and mathematics is her favourite subject. When she is not busy with school work, this seven year old helps her grandmother around the house, and enjoys playing hide and seek and dancing with her friends. She would like to be an administrative officer when she grows up. Hadiya’s mother passed away due to cancer, and she misses her greatly. Her grandmother cannot work, so it is very difficult for them to cover all of their family basic and education expenses. Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
