Faith

Faith is a 27-year-old young woman from Kathambangii, Kenya. Despite the many challenges she faces, Faith is known for her bright smile and positive spirit. She was born with a disability that affects her ability to walk and speak, and she has relied on a wheelchair her entire life. While her siblings attend school, Faith spends her days at home, supported by her loving family. Her home is a brick house with a sheet metal roof, shared with her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Life is not easy for Faith’s family, as they care for 11 members and rely on casual labor to meet their needs. Nevertheless, Faith remains surrounded by the love and care of her family, who ensure she is included in daily life and supported as best as possible. Her story is one of resilience and the quiet strength that comes from being part of a close-knit family. Sponsorship connects adults with disabilities to inclusive educational, occupational, and social activities and enables them to live dignified and healthy lives, regardless of their level of independence.
