At St. Theresa’s School, lunchtime used to be more stressful than joyful.
“Mealtimes were quite challenging,” says Lydia, a teacher at the school. “The children were eating in corridors, sitting on the grass under the scorching sun, or trying to manage in unpredictable weather.” Despite everyone’s best efforts, the school’s lack of a proper dining space made it difficult to create the nurturing environment the teachers had hoped for.
That began to change when St. Theresa’s received support through the gift catalogue to extend its dining hall.
“It’s been a remarkable transformation,” Lydia says.
The new sheltered dining area now offers students a clean, shaded, and welcoming place to gather for meals. What was once a difficult part of the day has become a calmer and more comfortable experience for both children and teachers.
The impact has been visible right away. With a better space to eat, students appear more relaxed, cooperative, and joyful throughout the day. Teachers have also noticed improvements in the children’s appetite, concentration, energy, and attitudes.
“Your support has not only provided physical infrastructure, but has also restored happiness in the hearts of the children,” Lydia says. “We are deeply grateful for your compassion and commitment to their future.”
What was once a place of discomfort has become a space of care, dignity, and joy — and that transformation is making a real difference in the lives of St. Theresa’s students every day.
