Kambui

Kambui is a 74-year-old woman from Waita Market, Kenya. She enjoys farming and finds great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who give her purpose and reason to keep going each day. Kambui lives in a brick house with a sheet-metal roof alongside her son and three grandchildren. Their mother, who was Kambui’s daughter, has passed away. An uncle also helps with expenses to support the children as they grow. Kambui lives with a physical disability affecting her fingers and hands, which prevents her from working. She also faces mobility challenges due to post-surgical complications. These health concerns make daily life difficult. Support would help ease the burden on Kambui and her family, providing stability and care for both her and her grandchildren. Sponsorship enables elders to eat well, access healthcare and medication, and connect socially with a community that fosters a sense of belonging.
