Photo Friday: Our top 5 “friendship” photos

Welcome to Photo Friday! Each Friday, we share photo collections of our favourite shots from our sponsor sites around the world.

Yesterday was International Day of Friendship, a day to celebrate bonds of love and laughter. In honour of this special occasion, we’re sharing our top 5 friendship photos we’ve collected from our sites. These photos are sure to have you thinking of all of the special friendships in your life, too!

#5: Twinning!

These little guys from our Mbinga site in Tanzania could be mistaken for twins in their matching school uniforms and big, boisterous smiles! We can tell how happy they make each other just by looking at this joyful photo.

#4: Lean on me

Many girls from our Starehe site in Kenya are sponsored to attend boarding school where they get a chance to apply themselves in the classroom, challenge themselves in groups and clubs, and meet tons of new friends. These pals are keeping each other standing after a series of challenging sprints during gym class!

#3: Twice as nice

What an adorable pose of a couple of best friends! These girls are from our Haiti North site, where they attend elementary school. Before class each day, they receive a nutritious breakfast including yogurt and boiled eggs. They were able to fit in some friend time while waiting for their healthy food!

#2: A bunch of buddies

On our most recent Mission trip to our Tondo site in the Philippines, the camera sure was popular! This group of friends were all clamoring to climb into a group shot. We love the silly smiles and friendly hugs all around!

#1: Friendships near and far

During Mission trips, participants make friends that will last a lifetime, no matter how far away they may be. This teen from Canada shared a friendly moment with a boy from our Pochaiv site in Ukraine while visiting our site! We’re sure the memories they made will be forever in their hearts.
