Pedro is a devoted father who spent most of his life working tirelessly to provide for his family. Through farming and carpentry, he supported his household with determination and pride. Known as a hardworking and dependable man, Pedro always ensured that his family’s needs came before his own.
Today, however, his life has changed dramatically due to serious health complications. Pedro has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is also suffering from advanced kidney disease, which requires him to undergo dialysis several times each week. Because of his condition, he has become very weak and can no longer walk without assistance. He now depends on a wheelchair for mobility and requires constant care from his family.
Pedro lives with his wife and children in a modest home near an irrigation area. As his health declined, the responsibility of providing for the family shifted to his wife. Determined not to give up, she began selling rice porridge and opened a small neighborhood store using borrowed capital. Despite her hard work, the small income she earns is barely enough to cover daily meals and her children’s basic needs, while she continues to struggle with debts incurred just to keep the household running.
Recently, Pedro’s condition suddenly worsened. He developed severe breathing difficulties accompanied by persistent cough and weakness. His family rushed him to the hospital where doctors discovered that he was suffering from several life-threatening complications, including severe pneumonia, heart complications, and fluid buildup in his lungs related to congestive heart failure.
Pedro was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he required oxygen therapy, strong medications, dialysis, and medical procedures to remove fluid from his lungs. After several days of careful treatment, his condition stabilized enough for him to return home. However, he must continue taking medications and undergo regular monitoring to prevent further complications.
The sudden medical emergency has placed a heavy burden on the family, who were already struggling with limited resources. Assistance during this difficult time would help ease the strain caused by the hospitalization and allow the family to focus on Pedro’s continued recovery and care.
