For many years, Josh has worked tirelessly as a daily-wage laborer, doing whatever work she could find to support her family. Despite her age, she continues to take on physically demanding tasks through government labor programs and agricultural work so she can help provide for her household. Her strength and determination have been a pillar for her family, which includes her elderly husband, her widowed daughter, and her granddaughters.
Life has not been easy for this family. Josh’s husband is no longer able to work because of his age, and the family relies mainly on the modest income earned by Josh and her daughter. Even with their limited resources, they remain deeply committed to supporting the education and future of the younger members of the family.
Earlier this year, Josh began experiencing severe abdominal pain and other troubling symptoms that gradually worsened. Concerned for her health, her daughter brought her to several hospitals in search of answers. After further examinations and tests, doctors discovered a serious infection in her uterus along with a concerning mass that required immediate medical attention. They warned that urgent surgery was necessary to prevent the condition from becoming life-threatening.
Josh was admitted to the hospital where she underwent multiple medical tests and received a blood transfusion due to low hemoglobin levels. Soon after, she underwent surgery to remove the infected uterus. The procedure was successful, and after several days of treatment and monitoring, she was able to return home to continue her recovery.
Although her health is gradually improving, the sudden medical emergency placed an overwhelming burden on the family. In order to ensure she received life-saving treatment, they had to borrow money from friends and acquaintances. For a household already struggling with limited income, this debt has become a heavy weight.
Support during this time would help ease this burden, allowing Josh to focus on healing and giving her family the chance to regain stability after this difficult experience.
