Philmon is a hardworking and determined student who dreams of becoming a teacher one day. He enjoys playing football and helping his family with gardening whenever he is at home. Despite living in difficult circumstances, he remains focused on his education and hopeful about building a brighter future.
Philmon lives with his parents and sibling in a rural community where life depends largely on farming and occasional casual labor. The family works tirelessly to meet their basic needs, relying on the uncertain income from their crops and small jobs whenever they are available. Though their resources are limited, the family supports one another with strength, unity, and determination.
Earlier this year, their lives were suddenly turned upside down. What began as an ordinary rainy day quickly became a devastating storm. Strong winds and heavy rain swept through the village, causing severe destruction. When the storm struck Philmon’s home, the roof was torn away and much of the house collapsed. Nearly three-quarters of the structure was destroyed, leaving the family without shelter.
Fortunately, the children were at school and the parents were working on their farm when the disaster occurred. Neighbors quickly stepped in to help, salvaging what little they could from the wreckage. Sadly, many of the family’s belongings—including clothing, bedding, food supplies, furniture, and important documents—were damaged or lost.
Since that day, the family has been relying on the kindness of neighbors who opened their homes to provide temporary shelter. While this support has been a blessing, the family longs to rebuild a safe and stable home where their children can grow, study, and live with dignity. With their limited income, however, rebuilding is beyond their means.
Support at this critical moment would allow the family to rebuild a stronger and safer home that can withstand future storms. Most importantly, it would restore a sense of security and stability for Philmon and his family as they continue striving toward a hopeful future.
