“Since I began receiving Chalice support in second grade, I am now able to look back with pride at my personal and academic growth,” Sri says. “In my early childhood, I developed a love for reading, which inspired me to embrace the values and lessons taught by my teachers.”

She also credits the Good Shepherd Sisters, who run Chalice’s sponsor site, for their wisdom and encouragement throughout the 13 years of site activities. Their annual medical check-ups, teen workshops, and careers counselling gave her a solid foundation for the years ahead.

Sri credits her sponsor’s support which, “allowed me to focus fully on my studies without financial worries, and my parents were relieved to see me grow healthily and happily.”

Now that she has graduated from university with her Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology she is optimistic for the future. “My parents are especially proud of me as the first college graduate in our family, Sri explains. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Chalice sponsorship program for creating a great platform for me to explore my talents and skills through which I am now able to stand on my own.  I thank everyone who played a key role in my life for their unwavering support and guidance.”
