Meet our artists, learn the love behind Chalice’s Christmas cards

Christmas is a season of intention, a time to reach out, send love, and reminding people how much they mean to us! Christmas cards are one of the sweetest traditions of the holiday season, it is a heartfelt way to spread joy and connection with the people we love most. In a world filled with quick messages and digital greetings, there’s nothing quite like a handwritten card, a small gesture that carries so much meaning.

Last year, Chalice came out with our first edition of Christmas cards, with every donation going directly to our Christmas Wonderfund to bring joy to children and families in need. Each carefully designed by Chalice sponsored children. Due to the incredible interest, we are thrilled to bring back Chalice Christmas cards for 2025, with five new hand-crafted designs. Let’s meet the 5 artists who designed our 2025 Christmas cards:

Nelvin, a sponsored grade ten student in Yapacani site, Bolivia.

“To me, Mary means patience and tenderness, I draw her with much love and affection,” Nelvin says, “she also represents love for us, since she accepted to be the mother of Jesus.”

Mariya, a sponsored university art student in Ternopil site, Ukraine.

Born with the love of art, Mariya leans into her talent and passion, capturing a family moment with cozy warm festive feelings.

Mark, a sponsored grade 12 student in Bulacan, the Philippines.

“My illustration depicts the time warn scene of a “Belen,” a nativity scene of Jesus Christ. In the background, there is a merry family that’s all together an exemplifies the unity and love of the season. The warmth and peace felt in the Christmas season are shown by the scene as it defines togetherness, faith, and hope. It reminds us of the real sense of Christmas – the celebration of Christ’s birthday and the graces it brings forth to all people. This illustration encourages us to reflect on what is important – family and community, during these sacred times,” Mark says.

Devarsi a sponsored nursing college student in Mangalagiri, site, India

Although Devarsi is laser-focused on becoming a nurse, she also has a keen eye for art. She created a bright and colour-filled nativity scene that radiates joy and captures the true spirit of Christmas.

Bright, a sponsored grade four student in Wa site, Ghana.

“Sponsorship has blessed my life, for me sponsorship feels like being born at Christmas. The Christmas tree stands like sponsorship […] the stars at the top remind me of the hope and dreams my sponsor helps me reach for. The gifts around the tree are like the good things my sponsorship provides, not just school supplies but also food, clothes, and medicine when I need it. They represent the security and stability I have now, which helps me focus on my studies and future. The entire tree represents a hope I can hang on and thrive”
