VP is 16 years old and lives with his parents and his sister. He is very grateful to his Chalice sponsor and the Nellore site to be able to continue his studies, despite living with chronic conditions.
Recently, VP has been experiencing severe pain in his right ear. He was constantly experiencing pain, discharge from the ear, and hearing loss.
When his parents took him to the hospital. They referred him to an ENT specialist, who told him he would need surgery. There was tissue damage around his eardrum. They admitted VP for a tympanomastoidectomy surgery to remove the affected tissue.
His medical bills came to $3,842.45 CAD. VP’s parents, being daily laborers, could not afford the treatment costs and sought help from Chalice to cover these medical expenses.
