Who we are looking for:

Chalice (Canada) is looking for an experienced, organized, and mission connected leader to join the organization as Human Resource Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in progressing and supporting Chalice’s mission as part of the leadership of the organization. The HR Manager is responsible for all HR aspects of Chalice, with duties that span recruitment, policy development, employee benefits, advising managers and staff, performance management, compliance, and fostering a culture aligned with Chalice's Catholic values.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to onboarding.
  • Manage employee benefits and facilitate plan enrollment and negotiations.
  • Update, maintain, and lead the performance management process, including development of tools, KPIs, standard documentation, and follow-up procedures.
  • Oversee HRIS administration.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop HR strategies and policies.
  • Provide HR guidance and support to employees and managers.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead the Occupational Health and Safety Committee and AIP application process.
  • Coordinate with teams across the organization in managing volunteers.
  • Assist in payroll processing and budget management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HRIS systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel.
  • CPHR designation and project management experience are assets.
  • Familiarity with Catholic Church teachings and active participation in the life of a local parish or diocese is required.

Other Requirements

  • Hours worked: minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in an office environment.
  • Working in a faith and prayer filled environment, including attendance and participation in daily prayer meetings.
