Critical Need: CNITK0624

Francis Mary is a mother of three young adults: Merlin, Dhoni and Joshiga. Joshiga, her youngest, is just completing grade twelve, thanks to his Chalice sponsor through the Tamil site. Francis Mary is a daily wage worker, and her husband Chinnappan is a painter.

Over the past eight months, Francis Mary has been experiencing abdominal pain and bleeding. A scan revealed uterine fibroids, prompting surgical intervention.

Francis Mary underwent surgery and was discharged from the hospital five days later. A few weeks later, she experienced severe chest pain and sought medical attention. Following a breast scan, the doctor identified small cysts in her left breast. The doctor prescribed medication to dissolve the cysts. A follow-up appointment revealed that the cysts were shrinking, eliminating the need for surgery.

Subsequent check-ups confirmed her improving condition. Her doctor says Francis Mary’s recovery is progressing well with the current medication.

But her multiple hospital visits, medicine, and surgery, has generated expenses of $1,148.39 CAD. This is far more than she and Chinnappan can afford.

The Tamil site staff have put forward a request to cover these bills. These include Francis Mary’s surgery, lab tests, doctors' fees, admission, scans, medical items, medicine, and nursing charges.
