Chalice (Canada) is a Catholic, Nova-Scotia-based child sponsorship organization. Our mission is to bring the needs of the poor to the Canadian community and provide material support to over 51,000 needy children and elderly across 57 program sites in 15 countries.

Reporting to the President and as a member of the senior leadership team, the Senior Manager of Invitation is an impassioned, inspired, and dedicated leader responsible for all aspects of the Invitation Department, whose goal is to invite Catholics and other caring individuals to join Chalice in walking with those caught in the daily struggle to live with dignity in situations of pervasive and overwhelming poverty.

At a strategic level the Senior Manager collaborates with the dynamic and committed leaders of the Senior Management team. While exemplifying Chalice's Catholic faith and values, the Senior Manager is particularly responsible for attaining the financial and sponsorship goals of Chalice through careful planning, implementation, and assessment of a multifaceted development strategy that includes supporter communications, parish and school appeals, major gifts, planned giving, gift catalogue, interdepartmental support, special events, and other programming.

The qualified candidate for this position will have educational credentials in Not-for-Profit Management, Business, or Public Relations and, at minimum, five years of proven leadership experience in a similar or related role that includes demonstrated success in strategic planning, fundraising management, partner development, volunteer engagement, and people management.

In-depth knowledge of the Catholic church and working environment and, in line with Chalice's mission, a consistent commitment to faithful service in the Body of Christ, visible in active participation in the life of a local parish or diocese will be expected.

The best candidate will also bring a faithful and collaborative spirit, exceptional interpersonal skills, strong leadership qualities, and the strong written and oral communication skills that are required.
