In July, at the Mbinga Baptist Hospital in Cameroon, baby Gabriella was born prematurely with a birth defect affecting her small intestine and colon (proximal Jejunal Atresia).
Two months later she exhibited other health problems such as persistent vomiting, abscesses, low calcium and magnesium levels in her blood (hypocalcaemia and hypomagnaesaemia), and seizures.
Thankfully, she had a successful surgery and is recovering well. Her young mother is single and unemployed. With no source of income or savings, she can't afford to pay the hospital bill of $2,492.18. The Kumbo sponsor site in Cameroon has asked Chalice to help this baby and her mother pay the hospital bill and alleviate the extra burden placed upon them during this difficult time.
Funding Request: $2,492.18
