Svitlana is the mother of two sponsored children and lives near our Ternopil sponsor site in Ukraine.
She has had deteriorating conditions with her teeth for over 20 years. The problems started when she moved away from home to find work at the age of 19 and suffered from a lack of proper nutrition. A few years later she became pregnant with her first child and her teeth began to rapidly deteriorate and by the time she had her second child they were very painful and some had to be extracted.
After the birth of her second child, her partner abandoned the family and Svitlana was left alone with two little children and no financial support. She took her children and moved back in with her mother and brother, but barely had enough money to cover basic living costs so she was still unable to access professional dental care.
Svitlana has now lost most of her teeth and the ones she has are painful and need to be removed. She also needs a full set of dentures. She has a job as a seamstress and has saved a little money, but the cost is too high for her to manage on her own. The sponsor site director has asked Chalice for $1,221.45 to pay the dental fees and help Svitlana receive the care she desperately requires.
Funding Request: $1,221.45
