Yolanda is a 65-year-old lady who lives near our Chiclayo sponsor site in Peru.
She has a congenital heart defect, for which she received treatment several years ago. Recently she began suffering from dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, headaches and a frequent high heart rate. She saw a doctor, who has detected a thyroid node and referred her to an endocrinologist, and at the same time he has requested a new evaluation with the cardiologist.
The endocrinologist has requested an ultrasound and other tests and the cardiologist has requested a heart rate evaluation.
It is imperative that Yolanda receive these tests quickly and start her prescribed medication, but she doesn't have the means to pay for these treatments. The sponsor site director is asking Chalice for $791.83 to cover the costs of these tests and her medication.
Yolanda lives alone in a boarding house. She works and is able to meet her basic needs, but has no savings and cannot secure a loan. She is a member of the Santa Angela Christian Community and is currently volunteering as coordinator of the Human Mobility and Trafficking Commission of the Diocese of Chiclayo.
