In late December, the 42-year-old mother went for a pelvic sonogram, which revealed her cancer. She needed immediate surgery.
Genevieve approached the Haiti South site office in distress. Like many adults in Haiti right now, Genevieve has no means of employment, and has two children to support at home. She was afraid that she could not afford her treatment, but also afraid that she would die without it.
The Haiti South site have therefore requested $2,729.71 CAD to support Genevieve through her cancer treatment and recovery. This budget includes the cost of surgery and treatment. It also covers the medication she has bought to date, as well as three months further. This also includes three months of supplemental food supplies to boost her nutrition as she recovers.
