John Joseph, 56, has a history of rheumatic heart disease. In late February, a high fever prompted him to go to the hospital. The doctors discovered an infection in his mitral valve. They treated him for four days, and then discharged him in stable condition.
His emergency has incurred medical expenses of $661.51 CAD. His wife is currently the family’s sole earner, and she cannot afford these costs on her wages as a tailor.
