Jefftaïna has been having fevers, abdominal and lumbar pain, headaches, and menstrual issues since December. She has seen doctors and was hospitalized for two days. In mid-January, she consulted a gynaecologist who conducted laboratory exams and a pelvic ultrasound. Through these, Jefftaïna received a diagnosis of a UTI and bilateral polycystic ovaries. Her doctor began treatment immediately and estimated she would need months of follow-ups.
Jefftaïna’s mother approached the Haiti South sponsor site because she knew her earnings from the farm could not support her daughter’s care. The site staff helped her draw up a budget for Jefftaïna’s treatment, which comes to $1,941.89 CAD. This includes all her follow-up appointments and a recommended three-month supply of food, which will help her regain her strength. Her mother will accompany her to all her appointments.
Your support will enable help Jefftaïna and her family manage the cost of her treatment to date (lab tests, consultations, medicine, imaging, and gynaecologist) and allow her to receive all the treatments she needs for the next three months. It will also cover a three-month ration of essential groceries.
