Andjelica is 11 years old and lives with her mother, Anne-Marie, along with four other relatives near our Haiti South sponsor site. Anne-Marie does some small eel trading, but otherwise struggles to find stable employment. She is grateful that Andjelica has a Chalice sponsor, supporting her education costs. Andjelica is in grade four.

Six months ago, Andjelica began feeling heart palpitations and upper abdominal pain. Anne-Marie took her to the clinic, but medications did not improve Andjelica’s condition. Lab tests showed she has a bacterial stomach infection and urinary tract infection.

Andjelica needs continuing medical follow-up and medication, which is incurring expenses that Anne-Marie cannot manage. The bills, totalling, $863.97 CAD, encompass Andjelica’s medication, consultation fees, lab tests, ECGs, her food and her travel costs. She approached the Haiti South sponsor site office for help, who have put forward a request for the full amount.
