Wood Mackenley is in his final year of study at the Lycée near our Haiti South sponsor site. Now 21, his Chalice sponsor has been a great support to him and his mother, who had to raise her family of nine children alone.

Wood Mackenley was in a motorcycle accident and suffered a serious knee fracture. He was quickly taken to hospital for treatment, unconscious after the accident. He was hospitalized for several days.

His doctors are recommending surgery for his knee, and the Haiti South site staff would also like to provide him with supplemental groceries, so that robust nutrition can help him heal and recover.

His surgery and the supplemental food will cost $518.23 CAD, far outside the large family’s humble means. The site team have therefore put forward the request on the family’s behalf.
