Chalice human development program - Endeavour and Renovation, ParaguayThis location has operated as a Chalice Child Sponsor Site since October 2012.

This site promotes comprehensive community development programs for families in situations of risk. The mission of the social work of the congregation is to be an educational community with the Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello style committed to the comprehensive education of the poorest children, adolescents and youngsters, to help them become "Good Christians and honorable citizens". The core values are: Faith, Love, Gratitude, Optimism, and Work.

The project "Endeavouring Together" seeks to contribute to an improved quality of life for approximately 525 direct beneficiaries and 2,625 indirect beneficiaries over a three year period. Each year the project will help 175 direct beneficiaries (175 x 3 = 525) and 875 indirect beneficiaries, given the average number of members in each participating family is 5 (175 x 5 = 875 per year).

The total of 2,625 indirect beneficiaries in three years will be accomplished with protection and early childhood stimulation services, school support, nutrition, hygiene, and preventive health, sports, recreation, and others offered by the Open Center. This project will include the salary of one educator and another staff member who will run the programming.

Training courses will be provided for mothers of sponsored and non-sponsored children, as well as for youth who are differently abled in order to gain employment. Training will be in partnership with a government office and will start in the areas of cooking, sewing, and hairdressing; other training opportunities may be added as they present themselves. Training courses will respond to the labor demand in the area and promote options that encourage entrepreneurship.

This project will also include repairs and improvements to infrastructure to allow for adequate space for the planned activities. Part of the space where training will take place is currently being used by the sisters as their living quarters. This project also includes the work to transfer their living quarters to another part of the building.
