Chalice Critical Needs - Repair Buildings Damaged by Fire, UkraineShe lives with her mother and three siblings, the oldest of whom is 17, in a very rundown property with no inside running water in the village of Vivsya. Lesya's father has left the family and provides no assistance, leaving her mother, 37-year-old Halyna, as the sole provider. She has no job and works on their small plot of land growing vegetables and raising some domestic animals to support the family.

In early August, problems with the electrical wiring resulted in a fire, causing severe damage to their shed, barn, and summer kitchen. The fire department arrived on scene to extinguish the flames, but not before all the wooden components of the structures were destroyed, along with some of their furniture. They are now without a barn for the animals, and they are using the children's bedroom as a place to cook.

This family is very poor and in desperate need of help and our sponsor site director says they have no one to turn to for help.

Our sponsor site director has come to Chalice to request funds to provide construction materials to repair the roof of the barn as well as materials and pieces of furniture to make the shed and summer kitchen livable. The family with some help from others in the community, will look after the labour. Total amount being requested is $3,059.
