Ancy is 48 years old and the mother of three boys including 16-year-old Albin who is sponsored through the Chalice Kerala Site.
Chalice Critical Needs - Medical Expenses for Ancy in India, following treatmentTwo of the boys, including Albin, attend university while the youngest is in grade seven. Ancy's husband works as a daily-wage labourer which means his wages will vary depending on whether or not he can find work.

Ancy had been experiencing bleeding for three months and after many consultations at a number of local hospitals, she was finally referred to the medical college in Kottayam for further diagnosis. Following lab tests at the college, she was diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (upper gastrointestinal bleeding). She spent three weeks in hospital taking treatment and is now recovering at home, where she requires constant care.

Ancy's family has incurred significant medical costs to date and their financial situation has become desperate since her husband has had to be home to care for her during her recovery. Her husband has paid the medical costs by getting loans from his friends, but he cannot repay the medical expenses and meet the needs of his family on his small income.

Our Sponsor Site Director in Kerala, Sister Joseph, has come to Chalice for assistance in the amount of $2,531 to help the family cover the medical expenses.
