Rickson lives with his mother and his three sisters in a two-room brick structure that has clay floors and a thatched roof in Serenje, Zambia. He is in grade four at Kamwala Primary School and his best subjects are Social Studies and Development Studies. He enjoys playing soccer with his friends. At home, he helps with all the household chores. His mother works as a maid, but doesn't earn enough income to provide the basic needs of the family. Rickson would like to become a pilot if he is able to continue his education. At the Serenje Sponsor Site, the Sisters of Mary Immaculate provide children with school fees and materials, as well as proper nutrition. Parents and guardians attend business training workshops to learn how to supplement their incomes.
