Chalice
When the Samar Sponsor Site in the Philippines contacted Chalice, we approved a request for Critical Needs to enable Jeny to get the surgery she needed.
Jeny Receives Successful Surgery Through Chalice Critical Needs FundingOn June 8, 2016 Jeny had a medical examination for a mass she felt on her left breast and the doctor recommended surgery for a breast fibroadenoma (solid, benign tumour).

When Chalice was contacted by Jeny's  Sponsor Site (Samar) in the Philippines, we were concerned for her welfare and approved a request for Critical Needs (Medical Urgency Fund). Thanks to the support of our donors, Jeny was able to have her surgery.

Jeny wanted to schedule her procedure during her midterm break so she wouldn't miss any class time. She was admitted to the hospital in November for five days with her mother at her side. The mass found was submitted for biopsy and thankfully showed no evidence of malignancy.

Jeny, her family, and the Site are so relieved to have this health scare behind them. Jeny is back to university pursuing her studies as a second year College Education student. We thank God for Jeny's continuing good health and wish her the best in her future studies.
