About Mbinga ...
The Chalice Mbinga Sponsor Site is run by Vincentian Fathers and has 8 locations across the southwest of Tanzania. It is in one of the most remote parishes of Mbinga Diocese. The Site provides educational assistance to sponsored children directly and indirectly through the Sponsorship Program. Almost all are poor farming families who cultivate maize and beans which is also their main staple food. With a focus on education, kindergartens and primary English medium schools have been built with the support of Chalice. Health care is provided to our children and their families, along with regularly scheduled health awareness and feeding programs. Foods, like meat, cooking oil, food grains, and sugar are provided quarterly to the families, especially for Easter and Christmas celebrations. Social Workers make regular visits to families to educate them about cleanliness and responsible parenting.
